What is a level two ultrasound?

A level two ultrasound, or a detailed anatomical survey, is recommended for most pregnant women. It is similar to a standard ultrasound, except it provides a more in-depth evaluation of the baby, examining all your baby’s organs, brain, umbilical cord, gender, and more. Most practitioners will call for a level two ultrasound as a part of routine prenatal care for all their patients, to see how your baby is developing and detect any potential problems as soon as possible.
